While running for Governor, I promised that we would reform the state government, that we would balance the budget without raising taxes and that over four years we would help the people of Wisconsin create 250,000 new jobs. In my 10 months as Governor of Wisconsin, we are already well on our way to accomplishing these objectives.

We have turned a $3.6 billion budget deficit into a surplus, without raising taxes or cutting essential services. We implemented key reforms that led to 88% of Wisconsin job creators saying that Wisconsin is headed in the right direction, up from 10% one year ago. And most importantly, our reforms helped private businesses create nearly 30,000 new jobs.

Despite the positive impact our reforms have had on Wisconsin, out-of-state interests have taken issue with them. Earlier today the Big Government Labor Union Bosses and Democrats filed paperwork to recall me. Instead of moving Wisconsin forward, they want to move Wisconsin back to the tired old policies of the past.
