2012 Election: The Candidate Match Game - USATODAY.com

After completing the survey, I had an exact 3-way tie among Bachmann, Perry, & Gingrich. After tweaking the sliders a bit as suggested, there was some movement here & there, but at the end of this exercise, I was still EXACTLY tied, same 3, same scores; 60.1% and 5 of 11 answers in agreement.

For me, I'm not surprised at all. Obviously wouldn't be in agreement with Obama or Hunstman on anything, Paul is way too far off on foreign affairs and defense, and my guess is that Santorum was a close 4th, followed by Romney in 5th. My guess is that Santorum was very close, but he's even more conservative than me on social issues; civil unions for gay couples would be one example there.

As I state on my blog purpose in the right-hand column when I wrote it nearly two years ago now, I want secure borders, strong defense, conservative judges who interpret the Constitution, not re-write it, am pro-gun, pro-life except in cases of rape & incest, energy exploration with a goal toward indepenedence, a simplified tax code & structure, term limits, fewer agencies & bureaucracies, options for younger people when it comes to entitlements, no deficit spending, and of course, reduction of the national debt to protect our children and grandchildren.

Does such a person with the experience, gravitas, common sense, strong moral compass, and the ability/means to WIN exist? Is he or she out there? Please? Someone? Anyone?
