Jauch speaks...

Feel free to let Mr. Jauch what you think of his poison pill language with the RINO Dale Schultz. He can be reached at Sen.jauch@legis.wisconsin.gov. Monday, March 05, 2012 5:06 PM Jauch defends his substitute amendment The mining debate begins with consideration of Sen. Bob Jauch's substitute amendment reflecting his work on a compromise bill with Sen. Dale Schultz, R-Richland Center. Jauch, D-Poplar and the senator for the area surrounding the mine, said mining was another issue that had deeply divided the state, lamenting, "It didn't need to be this way." "Those of us who favor responsible mining care about the economy, care about jobs," Jauch said. "The only thing that bill does is compromise our natural resources," he added. "A responsible mining bill does not compromise our environment." Jauch said current efforts to pass a mining bill have been rushed, and that lawmakers have sought to take credit instead of reach consensus on a solution. He added that the Schultz-Jauch proposal "meets the (mining) company's publicly-expressed requirements for timelines" while maintaining environmental protections. -- By Andy Szal
