Oh my! Rasmussen poll: Rick Perry 44% Obama the failure 41%

This is the first poll that has Rick Perry beating Obama. As American learns more about Perry, and continue to be exposed to the failure that is Obama, Perry is becoming the obvious choice. A lot will depend on how Perry does in the upcoming debates. There are three GOP debates scheduled for the month of September. If Rick Perry knocks them out of the park, he’ll be well on his way. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows Perry picking up 44% of the vote while the president earns support from 41%.


Perry leads by nine among men but trails by five among women. Among voters under 30, the president leads while Perry has the edge among those over 30. The president leads Perry by 16 percentage points among union members while Perry leads among those who do not belong to a union.
