Texas Gov. Rick Perry has vowed not to implement state programs required under President Barack Obama's federal health care law. He joins several other Republican governors who remain opposed to the state mandates after the Supreme Court upheld the law's constitutionality.

NBC's Dallas affiliate reports that Perry announced his refusal to create a state health insurance exchange in a letter to U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius:

"I will not be party to socializing healthcare and bankrupting my state in direct contradiction to our Constitution and our founding principles of limited government," Perry stated.

"I stand proudly with the growing chorus of governors who reject the Obamacare power grab. Neither a 'state' exchange nor the expansion of Medicaid under this program would result in better 'patient protection' or in more 'affordable care.' They would only make Texas a mere appendage of the federal government when it comes to health care," Perry continued.

I hope that includes all the other unconstitutional items that rode in with the bill that have nothing to do with health care. People think that the obamacare bill only have health care written in. Better read the bill.

This Healthcare bill was not created for Healthcare reasons. I have Healthcare for which I pay for and I stil get enormus bills. This bill doesnt do what they claim it does. No one is against making Healthcare more affordable.I have wore for Dr.s,Hospitals and BCBS. What this bill will do is push Doctors out if practice.People would rather pay for entertainment than thier Healthcare. I have been told our premiums will become unaffordable by 2014.Therefore we will have to drop and be fined and still have no care. And with no doctors to see what wuld it matter anyway. The people who want this are the ppl who wont have to pay anything while the rest do.Also so many things in bill.I am apposed to rationing care and killing off old people. I am apposed to the V-chip that wil be implanted in yu eventually and it is in the bill.I am apposed to Govt deciding if I get treatment or not.We culd have come up with much better ways to handle the uninsured and high cost. This bill is about Govt Contol. This bill puts connects Govt to your bank acct and IRS will be able to pull from your acct at any time. This bill does away with privacy rights and your medical info.will be known by many. In this bill when yu sell your home a %of it goes to O care.Look at the bill. Dems lied about all if it anf thts why they passed it like a thief in the night. And this bil will bankrupt companies and destroy whats left of our economy. It is not written anywhere in Constitution saying our employeers have.to cover our healthcare either. That was something Companies did on thier own now they are required to. There was a better way but as I said before. This had nothing to do with Healthcare and everythong to do with Govt Control. I have i.s now and I dont run to ER for a stumped toe or a fever. I have to think about it first because ai have a $75 COPAY.Those on Medicaid have Zero resp so they go to ER for every little thing. Make people pay something (skin in the game) or we are doomed. People who get free stuff abuse the programs to the fullest. Im for healtcare changes but not the Economy destroying O care.
