Thursday night 2/9 update on the 4 Senate Recall Challenges...
World War III looms...J.B. Van Hollen still sitting on toilet...Can you imagine if Kloppenburg had beaten Prosser for the State Supreme Court? They'd just go straight to them. Thank goodness they can't.

6:12 PM GOP challenges knock out four with redistricting claims -- only two without
The GOP challenges to the petitions were filed today with the Government Accountability Board and if every claim against the four petitions were to hold up, all the recalls could be stopped.
But most of those hinge on an argument that a large portion of the signatures were from those outside the lines of the new senate district. GAB said last year that the recall drives should base their petitions on signatures from people in the old district lines.
If those old districts ultimately hold up, the GOP wouldn't be able to disqualify enough signatures on the Sen. Pam Galloway and Van Wanggaard petitions to stop a recall election.
If all other challenges were upheld, the recalls for Sen. Terry Moulton and Scott Fitzgerald could still be stopped. However, given that petitions can be given the opportunity to rehabilitate signatures thrown out based on illegible information, it's possible that the Moulton recall camps could restore enough signatures -- they would only need 70 -- to put the recall back on track. As about 160 of the signatures were challenged on the basis that their addresses could not be determined, such rehabilitation is certainly a possibility.
Lastly, when it comes to the matter of duplicate signatures and fakes:
*The Moulton petition challenged 265 signatures as duplicates, though noted no fake names.
*Galloway challenged 403 duplicates, though noted no fake names.
*Fitzgerald challenged 205 duplicates, and one fake name that was only noted as having the last name of a well-known slang usage of "Sucker."
*Wanggaard challenged 137 duplicates and no fake names.
Despite the lack of fake names, many of the signatures were challenged on the claim that they contained signatures in the same handwriting.
